The 2-day Waqrapukara visit with camping is ideal for those seeking spirituality and a connection with nature. Waqrapukara is unknown to many tourists, and you will have the opportunity to camp close to this magnificent site. You will also enjoy a special night under the stars, constellations, and planets.

Itinerary

After picking you up from your accommodation in Cusco, we will travel south to the stunning scenes of Pomacanchi Lagoon.

We will make a brief stop at the lagoon's shore to photograph its marvelous regular habitat.

We will continue our journey to the town of Sangarará, known for its sanctuary of the Virgin of the Snows. After learning more about its fascinating legend, we will gather our energy for the rest of the agenda with a decent breakfast. The excursion will proceed through the Pitumarca network, where we will begin a climbing trek.

The hike will end near the Waqrapukara archaeological site. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a nearby campsite until the next day.

..

After we finish eating at the campsite, we will take a guided tour of the Waqrapukara archaeological site.

Under the ancient Intipunku, or "Sun Gate," we will explore points of interest related to the pre-Columbian civic establishments that built and later fought for control of this vital enclave.

During the visit around the archaeological site, we will also observe the rock art that is still preserved.

Is it clear how significant this is? After the visit to Waqrapukara, we will return to the campsite for lunch.

After lunch, we will walk to the region of Sangarará, where transportation will be ready to take us back to Cusco at the end of the day.
