The starting point will be sent to your email.It combines adventure sports such as mountain biking, canoeing, canopy. With 4 days of walking, where we will visit coca and coffee plantations, until we arrive to Machu Picchu. Optionally (subject to availability) you can access one of the additional mountains: "Machu Picchu Mountain" or "Huayna Picchu". The Premium version of the Inca Jungle Tour is an optimized and/or personalized service that allows you to do the tour in small groups (7 people on average). In addition, this version includes substantial improvements in all services (transportation, accommodation, food and guide, among others).
Itinerary
At 5:30 in the morning you will be picked up at your hotel in Cuzco to start the adventure in our transport to Ollantaytambo. In this place we will make a small stop to buy the last things necessary. Then we will continue our transport to Abra Malaga at 4330 m altitude.
This is where our bicycle adventure begins. After a safety briefing, you will enjoy an exciting 2.5 hour bicycle ride into the lush and humid jungle. Having traveled 21 km by bicycle we will settle in our hotel, in double private rooms, to go rafting where you will be transported to the base of operations on the Vilcanota River, Place where you will have a technical talk and equipment to ride the rapids of grade II and III. Once this activity is over, the group will meet again at the hotel for dinner and rest.
The day begins with a delicious breakfast and a spectacular sunrise. Then we will walk along the shores and coca plantations, observing the beauties of the high forest until we reach Qellomayo where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
After enjoying the food and having some time to rest, we will continue the trekking, appreciating the diversity of the landscape formed by waterfalls, streams and typical vegetable plantations of the area. Also, it will be possible to observe different birds, which are characteristic of this area, which, in turn, is part of the Amazon rainforest.
In the afternoon, we will arrive at the Cocalmayo hot springs, where we will be able to enjoy some hours in this famous thermo-medicinal waters. After this relaxing therapy we will be transported to our lodge located in the town of Santa Teresa where we will spend our second night. You can enjoy a pisco sour in one of the small but cozy pubs of the town. You will establish bonds of lasting friendship with our group.
A day of adrenaline. After a delicious and tasty breakfast we will be transported. To the base of the Tyrolean activity. After a brief safety briefing we will carry out the activity.
At the end of the activity we will be transported to Hidroelectrica where a delicious lunch will be waiting for us.
After lunch the trip will continue along the great Inca jungle, passing by waterfalls, coca fields and coffee to reach the town of Aguas Calientes better known as "Machu Picchu Pueblo", where you will be taken to a lodge. That night we will meet in a tourist restaurant where we will taste an exquisite dinner and together with the guide we will plan the visit of the following day to Machu Picchu.
To see the sunrise of Machu Picchu we will have to get up early. Around 4:00 am, we will have breakfast and start ascending to Machu Picchu.
Afterwards, we will enjoy a two-hour guided tour of the archaeological site, where we will learn about the secrets and history of this fascinating place. After the guided tour of Machu Picchu (subject to availability) you can access one of the additional mountains: "Machu Picchu Mountain" or "Huayna Picchu".
Then we will have enough time to enjoy it on our own. Afterwards we will return to Aguas Calientes.
In Aguas Calientes we can also have lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo. The train ride to Ollantaytambo takes about an hour and a half. Once we arrive at the train station in Ollantaytambo, a minibus will be waiting to take us safely to the center of Cusco.
