Duration: 1 day
Starts:
The starting point will be sent to your email.Palcoyo is one of the Rainbow Mountains in Cusco. Unlike the colorful Vinicunca mountain, Palcoyo offers a lighter and shorter hike. There is a rocky valley and many similar mountains around, along with an amazing view of the Ausangate snow-capped peak.
Itinerary
Our excursion to Palcoyo Mountain begins at 6:40 am, when we will be picked up from our hotel and embark on a several-hour drive, during which we can enjoy spectacular landscapes. We will stop in Cusipata for breakfast and continue for several more hours until we reach the checkpoint, where we will pay 10 soles for the entrance tickets to Palcoyo Mountain.
After the checkpoint, we will continue for another 15 minutes to reach our starting point for the hike, which takes 30 to 40 minutes. The hike is easy to complete, and we will observe various animals such as alpacas and suris. From the rocky valley, we will have a spectacular view of the Ausangate snow-capped peak, as well as several mountains similar to Palcoyo.
After the Palcoyo Mountain experience, we will return to the starting point, board our transport, and then head back along the same route to Cusipata for lunch, finally arriving in Cusco around 5:00 pm.
