Machu Picchu by train in 1 day. This option is recommended for you who do not have much time in Cusco, Peru. You will get to know Machu Picchu in the best train in 1 day, through a two-hour guide, then continue visiting Machu Picchu individually, and then return to the city of Cusco.

What to expect
day 1: MACHU PICCHU VISIT BY TRAIN
Our tour begins in Cusco around 3:50 a.m. with the pick up from our hotel where we stay, then we will make a 1 and a half or 2 hours trip to the train station in ollantaytambo.
From there we will take the 6:10 a.m. train to Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes), the journey takes an hour and a half and runs through spectacular scenery with views of the snow-capped mountains, the Vilcanota River and the tropical and high jungle area.
Once there at the Aguas Calientes station our guide will be waiting for us, then we will go to the bus station and climb to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
In Machu Picchu we will have a tour with the guide of the main and important places of the archaeological site of Machu Picchu around 2 hours.
At the end of the tour with the guide, you will have time to visit individually Machu Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu Huayna Picchu, after this we can go down by bus to Machu Picchu town where you will have all the time available to perform some other activities such as visiting the streets of the city, visit hot springs as well as the museum Manuel Chavez Ballon or any of these visits may do so on their own and assume the cost of income that this implies.
Please note that you have to be at the train station half an hour before departure, if your return train ticket from Machu Picchu station is at 14:50 p.m you should be at the train station at 14:20 p.m .
Once on the train, it will take you to the Ollantaytambo station arriving around 17:10, at the same station the company staff will board you for your return to Cusco leaving you near the hotel.

What to Bring to Machu Picchu by Train one Day
When preparing your luggage, remember that the rainy season in Machu Picchu is from December to March. The winter, between May and August, is especially cold, that's why we recommend you take:
- Wear sneakers or light shoes or tennis
- Original Passport
- Long sleeve shirts.
- Long pants.
- Insect repellent.
